Counseling

Life can get hard, but you don’t have to go at it alone.

In counseling (talk therapy), you’re given the space to explore and clarify the problems you’re facing in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. A therapeutic relationship is designed to give you what you need to dive deeper into your personal issues, emotional difficulties, life challenges, or goals. A good counselor will help guide you in clarifying problems, developing coping strategies, and gaining new perspectives, empowering you to make your own decisions and achieve mental health, wellness, and personal growth.

I offer two formats for counseling: virtual Talk Therapy and Walk & Talk Therapy (scroll to see below)

Counseling is highly personalized, with the number of sessions and longevity of work dependent on each individual’s unique needs and circumstances. However, successful therapy requires a strong therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client which is built over a series of sessions, meeting weekly, or bi-weekly, for several months.

Virtual Therapy

In today’s busy times, it’s become convenient to offer therapy in virtual settings. This eliminates any driving and allows you to commit to your therapy sessions during a midday lunch break, or just after your morning shower. While in-person sessions offer an environment with all of the benefits of being in a space together, virtual sessions have proven for many to be more realistic and reduce the extra pressures of scheduling and commute time.

Many clients have shared their love of virtual therapy because it is so accessible from the comfort of anywhere (in their bedroom, on the back patio, with their cat). To maintain confidentiality, clients designate a private space to use during their virtual therapy session, with stable internet. We meet within a secured HIPAA-compliant streaming platform and address the best forms of communication to keep you and your privacy protected.

It is important to note the level of social engagement clients have or are building and encourage regular doses of in-person social connection. The option of meeting for walk and talk therapy is also available to local clients in the area.

Meeting virtually also allows for a therapist to keep overhead costs low without the need to rent an office, which reflects in more affordable prices for clients.

Walk & Talk Therapy

In addition to virtual Talk Therapy, I have broadened my offerings to expand into the outdoors. Spending time in nature is therapeutic in and of itself, and . We all know how good it feels to spend 15 minutes outdoors (and how terrible it feels to spend an entire day without having seen the sky).

Walk and Talk Therapy is exactly as it sounds- we walk… and talk. This style of therapy invites movement, and a mind-body awareness into the therapy sessions. Many clients who feel overwhelmed or have a lot of anxiety find this outlet of energy to be quite helpful as they meet to discuss their issues. Clients who report higher levels of social anxiety find Walk and Talk therapy to be a helpful step in connecting and sharing, and a reduced sense of pressure as therapist and client walk side by side rather than sitting face to face. Clients living with ADD/ADHD also find great benefits to this style of therapy as the sense of movement may help with improving focus. Client’s dealing with grief and loss also find Walk and Talk therapy to offer a deep sense of connection to the world and getting outside in nature to be very in a number of ways.

The science backed evidence on the mental benefits of movement, spending time in green and blue spaces, and a therapeutic relationship are the triple threat to mental distress! Even as an occasional format for therapy, Walk and Talk may be an empowering part of your journey.

Life & Health Coaching

Whether you’re questioning your career, worried about your relationship, struggling with habits, or seeking deeper purpose - coaching is a powerful catalyst for change.

The coaching process allows you to get crystal-clear on what it is you deeply desire, understand the barriers that have kept you stuck, develop a plan of action, and follow through like never before.

How It Works

As with counseling, I offer a complimentary Clarity Call which gives you the opportunity to share about you’re looking for, get a feel for my practice and style- and assess what next steps might be best for you.

After completing your Clarity Call, and we feel Life & Health Coaching is good fit, we create a schedule for our work together. Sessions are held virtually, and provide you with the personalized accountability, support and strategic planning for taking the necessary action in your life.

My job is to help you get crystal clear on your goals and game plan, get up and running, following through and continue supporting your progress on your health and life goals. This is a very action-oriented and direct approach, involving motivational interviewing, clear strategies and action planning, and consistent accountability check-ins.

Brief coaching is an empowering experience that will deliver quick results, energy, perspective and follow through due to the support, accountability and action-oriented focus of coaching. Often, clients who choose to start with brief coaching continue into long term coaching as they are now highly motivated from their results and successes. We complete a brief coaching program in 6 weeks.

Long term coaching provides the conditions for deeper work. I highly recommend it to reap all the benefits of the coaching process. You will receive all that comes from brief coaching, and continue to navigate future complexities of life, building mastery in areas where you once felt out of control. A long term coaching program expands across 6 months.

Longevity and pricing* are explored together after your Clarity Call, and is a part of the collaborative coaching experience.
